Regarding Kaliyev being cut, it's only because the OHL starts its regular season tonight. There was no question that he'd be returning there, since he's not eligible for the AHL and he has a lot more development to do to be NHL ready, so there was no point to keeping him. Any little extra teaching that they might've given him in Kings camp wouldn't have been worth him missing games, starting the season off on the wrong foot and potentially missing the chance to lead the league in goals.
